Topics.

In this indispensable talk, Chitra Anand uncovers the power of intrapreneurship, explaining why and how it’s important that today’s corporate cultures shift toward intrapreneurship to maintain their relevance in the modern, highly competitive marketplace.

Chitra shows leaders how they can practice intrapreneurship within their organizations, how they can identify the true agents of change within their companies, and how they can mobilize these agents to act.

The talk begins with three big, bold ideas that organizations need to re-imagine:

Why and how consensus thinking will limit innovation The role of curiosity within an organization and how to harness it within yours First principles theory: how organizations need to shift their mindset toward this to drive real breakthrough thinking Chitra provides applied principles on how to take your innovation efforts from “accidental” to intentional within your organization.

She also draws upon her learnings from interviews from the worlds top leaders, who include: the Global CMO of Mastercard, Raja Rajamannar; the Editor in Chief of Wired Magazine, Nicholas Thompson; the CEO of Forbes, Steve Forbes; the CEO of Omers, John Ruffolo; and tech entrepreneur, Michelle Romanow.

Chitra Anand has worked in the tech space for over 20 years with some of the worlds most notable organizations. Women who want to study, work in, and lead businesses in science and technology have much to add and should be proactively empowered to do so.

Only 18 percent of undergraduate computer science degrees and 26 percent of computing jobs are held by women. It’s worse at the top of the corporate world — just 5 percent of leadership positions in the technology industry are held by women.

A better question might be, how can we collectively work to improve women’s participation in the tech industry at each key stage of their careers? The problem is far deeper than stats. They are embedded in our culture, language and unconscious biases that we all hold; both as men and women. How do we uncover what these are and how do we take those insights to drive real sustained change? How do we continue to trailblaze knowing these challenges in a hyper competitive market?

What is an intrapreneur? An intrapreneur is an entrepreneur within a large, complex organization: a startup within a company. These people spur innovation, creative thinking, and new ideas, driven by passion and genuine love for their work. But how to you identify these people within your company, and encourage their good work? Chitra Anand is a lifelong intrapreneur and top researcher in the field.

In this talk, she breaks down the traits of an intrapreneur—fearless; agile; “greenhouse” thinkers who sprout and germinate ideas, plans, and execution strategies; and can easily navigate an organization—and how to find and mine talent within your company.

She explains how to bridge the gap in organizations that are set up against intrapreneurship. And, she provides practical takeaways for your company, focusing on deliberate innovation that rapidly responds to market trends.

In today’s global market, consumers are more empowered than ever. Intrapreneurs know how to meet consumer demand quickly, and ensure your company doesn’t get left behind.

How has technology changed the way we buy? What are the prospects for retail stores? How can we reach increasingly challenging markets? In this comprehensive talk, Chitra Anand looks at the future of marketing. The old school methods of print advertising and general campaigns are no longer sustainable. The surge of information and the digital space has given rise to new mediums of communication. We are interacting differently; we are referral-based buyers; we have greater access to information and influencers; and the power has shifted from businesses to consumers. What is the impact of this, how do we make sense of it in a meaningful way? What trends can we predict and how will this impact the role of marketers? Anand lays it all out and provides hands-on, feasible solutions for this next gen of sales and marketing.

Its Work Life Integration vs. Work Life Balance.

People often talk about work life balance. If we were to take the word balance literally, it would mean equal. That would suggest that we spend an equal amount of time at work and in our personal lives. This is simply not the case. We are in an era where work and life are infused and this is largely due to the introduction on technology; work creeps into our personal lives and our personal lives creep into our work lives…it is a blend so to speak.

Technology has shifted the way we work. It is no longer a 9-5 day.
Work life integration is a more fitted term and idea that will help frame how work and life can be in harmony. During this workshop, you will gain insight into this new way of working and identify practical ways on how to re-image your days to achieve all that we need to from wellies to parenting to caring for family members or whatever it is that is important to you. When work life integration is realized, it will create new found opportunities.

Greenhouse Thinking: How To Cultivate
A Culture On Intrapreneurship &
Re-Imagine Corporations.

If the market places are being disrupted, then companies need to re-think how they operate. To succeed, modern businesses need to learn how to grow from within, without getting lost in the weeds. Creative thinking and innovation is the foundation of any organization. It is what drives new product development, creating brands, creating compelling story telling, creating new lines of business. While we know and understand that innovation is the currency to value creation, many organizations get stuck, they become complacent, and at times they become irrelevant. GreenHouse thinking is a mindset shift; a shift to how we approach our thinking within environments challenging

Research & Insights.

Once we understand the context, then we can make better business decisions.
I have always believed that understanding the context is key to any successful project.

With a deep understanding of how research is conducted and interpreted, I will partner with you to conduct research in your respective areas regardless of what kind of project it is. As a data scientist, the topics can range from understanding consumer behaviour, trends in the market, cultural relevance, new technologies or social purpose. I will develop key insights in the form of a white paper, infographic or simply synthesizing information which can influence product design, marketing campaigns or business decisions at large.

Developing & Crystalizing Brand Narratives.

The best marketers are storytellers. It is a fact that we retain stories more than data.

While this may seem obvious, it can be a very challenging concept to grasp and distill. I will work with your organization to answer critical questions like; what are you in the business of doing and why is it relevant? How do you create a story when your product or service is a by product of that service…in other workds the enabler. How can you shift your narrative to be the enabler?

Business Strategy
& Development
.

Business strategy is vital for any company seeking to grow its business in a meaningful way. It is a clear set of plans, actions and goals that outlines how a business will operate in a particular market with a product or number of products or services. While simple to understand in theory, developing and executing this can be challenging. I will work with your on developing and mobilizing this within your respective organizations from idea to execution.

Intrapreneurship Programs.

I have dedicated 6 years of doctoral research to this topic. It is my belief that Intrapreneurship is the gateway for organizations to sustain competitive growth in this global economy. I will work with your organization to develop a custom Intrapreneurship program.
What is Intrapreneruship?

An Intrapreneurial organization is one that takes an entrepreneurial approach from within a large organization, one that challenges conventional thinking to drive innovation, that thinks creatively and finds new ways to approach business.
This custom program will look at designing a scalable program that will focus on experimentation, hypothesis testing, first principles thinking, and diverse thinking as a way of being; an approach to how you operate on a day to day perspective.
